Adept Technology has launched a new vision-based robotic parts feeding solution Adept FlexiBowl, which is available as an option on all company's robot systems.

According to the US-based company, the new feeder uses circular band tracking to simplify and speed the robotic acquisition of component parts that are used in assembly, handling and kitting applications.

The feeder has the capability to separate and orient a wide range of parts made from diverse materials quickly.

Adept Technology president and chief executive officer John Dulchinos said the Adept FlexiBowl uses vision technology to create a flexible standard parts feeding solution that can be deployed and redeployed quickly.

"The Adept FlexiBowl dramatically increases the flexibility of a robotic system opening up new applications to automation and increasing the competitiveness of manufacturers around the world," Dulchinos said.

The feeder, which features serial interface connections, encoder latching as well as a small footprint, offers various benefits including quick and easy installation, throughput between 30 to 60 parts per minute, besides easy maintenance and cleaning.
